Aylsham Runners Hall of Fame 2026
The club performance standards are a way of incentivising and rewarding each of you for achievements across a range of distances.
The aim of the running club standards is to give each runner, regardless of ability, the motivation and the focus to train for a specific goal. Setting realistic and achievable standards within the club not only encourages a sense of fulfilment on achieving your target but will also hopefully motivate and inspire other athletes to do the same.
You don’t have to be a top athlete to achieve these standards, but you will have to train for them! We have one set of standard times for the open age category and one set for each 5-year veteran category.
Categories are as follows:- Copper (the easiest), Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum (the hardest)
These apply to the following standard race distances: 5K, 5M,10K,10M,1/2 Marathon and Full Marathon, but you don’t need to run all of these! To qualify for the full club standard, you need to equal or better the standard time for your age group for at least 3 of the 7 race distances in the calendar year (1st January to 31st December). You will also be recognised and celebrated for achieving the standard at each race distance. You must submit your distance and time to the club and as long as it is a recognised timed race (including Parkrun) we can judge it against the standards and reward you! You can achieve multiple standards in the same year, so for example, you could achieve silver for a 5k, 10k and half marathon in the first half of the year and then achieve gold for races in the second half of the year.
Club Standard awards will be presented at the annual summer and winter parties.
